Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis, material manipulation, and sensory restriction formed the conceptual foundation of the collaboration presented at A38. As part of the Music x Visuals event series, Kamilla Szemere’s latest collection was accompanied by a live performance from Lőrinc Barabás. Each piece reflected a journey of psychological transformation and growth—progressing from a closed state toward full emergence. Through our collaborative design, the collection was extended with a sculptural “metal mesh” piece and patinated black copper eye coverings. The fine mesh was crumpled into a cocoon-like shape that enveloped the body, while the copper elements restricted vision, narrowing spatial awareness and blurring perception to evoke heightened inward focus.
